Fall Yard and Plant Maintenance

20151019_164104

We have been out reseeding with our lawn renovated lately.  Now is good time to reseed and our machine really does a good job getting the essential soil contact necessary for seed germination.  We also put down a good lawn fertilizer as well as lime.  When the new grass shots come up, they will die without the proper fertilizer available…

The weather man is calling for frost in the near future, time is getting ready to change to shorten our days, so now is the time to prepare our yards and landscapes for the upcoming winter season.  Plant Shrubs and Evergreens early in the fall to give them enough time to get their roots established before winter.  Spraying your trees and landscape materials with Neem Oil provides an all Natural Insecticide and Pesticide and gives them an extra protective coating to battle the winter temperatures.  Divide and cut back perennials and while you’re at it, dig them up and try rearranging plants if they haven’t been working in their location.   DON’T FORGET TO FEED YOUR LAWN.   Don’t let your lawn go into winter without the nutrients it needs to battle the long sleep… contact Mike at Minks for further information.
